Special thanks to Jason and Rob at Three Cat Productions for casting him as Rose, to Jesse, Nick and Annalee and to Steve, Kevin and John, for making this the most fun he’s ever had in a dress and heels.
Steve Kimbrough (Euglena Belcher) is thrilled to be working with Three Cat and his lovely sisters in song on this production. Steve was last seen in his Jeff nominated role as Shelly Winters in Poseidon An Upside Down Musical with Hell In A Handbag Productions. The last thing I wanted to do was follow that up with another role in a dress and wig but the opportunity to work on this original musical with this awesome group was too great to pass up. Thanks to Jason and Rob for thinking of me to play Euglena. Steve has been performing in the Chicago land area for as long as he can remember. He was proud to play the Governor in the multi Jeff winning production of Parade with the Bailiwick. Steve has been doing cabaret in Chicago for the last 15 years also. His 1st CD "The Here and Now" is available on I Tunes and he is currently finishing up work on a 2nd one. As always Steve wishes to thank his wonderful partner Fred who makes everyday a gift as well as his family that has supported him through thick and thin. Drew Emery (Playwright)
Fifteen years ago, Drew received his MFA in playwriting from the University of Virginia, moved to Seattle and began an odyssey of creative pursuit. His dramatic writing has included Solo for Four, Hidden History (created with Patricia Van Kirk), Language of One (with Lewis Merkin) at the late Alice B. Theatre, and contributions to the gospel version of Voices of Christmas at The Group. Hidden History was an oral history of Seattle lesbian and gay elders and toured around Washington State with Hands Off Washington. Language of One was the first fully bilingual deaf/hearing play. Drew went on to produce and direct an Equity Showcase of the play at New York Deaf Theatre. It was later mounted by Australian Theatre of the Deaf as part of the Mardi Gras Festival. The Stops represents a return to theatre after a long foray writing poetry, fiction and filmmaking. Two years ago, he produced and directed his first film, the documentary The Bridge, which created an intergenerational dialogue between Seattle’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender elders and youth. This year, Drew is producing and directing a documentary feature, Inlaws & Outlaws, a view of marriage from the inside and out. He is a past recipient of the Virginia Playwriting Prize and the Howard Scammon Drama Prize and makes up all sorts of stuff in his kitchen. Currently, Drew is in the audience trying his best to sit still and behave.
