Rob Dorn stepped into a “wonderland” of early 60’s holiday nostalgia featuring songs from his CD aptly titled “Wonderland,” and his own personal christmas memories and stories, including a tribute to all those great holiday specials we grew up with! Joining him were John Behling on jazz guitar, Joshua Stephen Kartes on piano and Michael Favreau plays sax, clarinet, flute, etc...

A special cabaret event “This Date in History: Celebrating January 31st through Song”. A handful of the Chicago’s most talented performers Amy Cole, Rob Dorn, Elizabeth Dowling, Laura Freeman, and Tim Hairston will help explore the important historical events that happened on January 31st. From the births of Carol Channing and Justin Timberlake to the House of Representatives passing of the 13th Amendment to the Constitution officially abolishing and prohibiting slavery.

Diana Lawrence showcased new material on January 10 at 8:00pm. Her comfort with a wide variety of styles, as pianist, singer and songwriter, has given her the opportunity to work with everyone from world-famous conductors to local actors, from jazz combos to choral ensembles. Most recently Diana worked as musical director of The Apple Tree Theatre’s production of “The Mistress Cycle”.

In the traditions of The Ed Sullivan Show, Carol Burnett and yes, Donnie and Marie Osmond comes an hour of musical variety, featuring some of Chicago’s most interesting and diverse performers. A little bit of everything, lot’s of fun and surprises.

Life is a Song was held on the third Thursday of each month. Life is a Song is a special cabaret evening based on a theme, such as, “First Kiss”. Local and National singers will be presenting their perceptions of that theme through monologue and song. An exciting new opportunity for the performers and audience alike!!

Incredibly talent singer songwriter Ingrid Graudins. Having recorded a self titled CD in 2000 entitled “Brave Again”, Ingrid can be seen on album projects, commercials, live dates with bands like Tributosaurus (a Chicago monthly tribute band) and mini tours with the lovely Boston-based alt/folk goddess Catie Curtis and the awesome Chicago-based new folk artist Alice Peacock.

Director Barbe Marshall presented a new work by New York playwright Heather Flock entitled “Minnie America”. Heather Flock, playwright and award-winning choreographer, received her M.F.A. in playwriting from Columbia University where she studied with Romulus Linney. In New York, her plays have been read and performed at New Dramatists, Shotgun Productions, Art & Work Ensemble and Worklight Theatre Company. She currently lives in New York City where she works for the Commissioner of Major League Baseball.

A rare Chicago performance by the talented composer Jeff Award Winning composer Eric Lane Barnes. He is kicking off our NEW WORKS night. He is joined by Rob Dorn and the hysterical Tina Gluschenko. They will sing a bunch of new songs he has written in the last couple years. Very funny. This one is a DO NOT MISS show. We have no idea when Eric will be back in town. (He is living in Seattle and is the associate music director of the Seattle Gay Men’s Chorus.)
